CONCRETE

Concrete Contractor in Wenatchee, WA

Flatwork in North Central Washington has to survive freezing nights, hot afternoons, and the water that moves under it in spring. Greenpoint Construction LLC pours driveways, patios, walkways, steps, and slabs with the base and jointing that keeps them from cracking apart early.

The base decides how long the pour lasts

Most failed concrete in this valley did not fail because of the mix. It failed because the ground under it moved. We excavate to depth, remove soft material, and compact a crushed rock base in lifts so the slab is sitting on something that will not settle.

Where a slab is going over disturbed backfill or a slope cut, we account for that before we ever set forms. Getting this part right is far less work than tearing out a sunken driveway later.

Built for freeze-thaw winters

Water gets into concrete, freezes overnight, expands, and pushes the surface apart. Our pours use air-entrained mix, proper water content, and grading that carries runoff away from the house instead of pooling on the slab.

Control joints are cut at the right spacing and depth so shrinkage cracks land where we put them rather than across the middle of your patio. Curing is managed too, since concrete that dries too fast in July heat never reaches the strength it was supposed to.

Driveways, patios, walkways, and steps

We pour and replace residential driveways and approaches, patios and outdoor living slabs, front walks and side paths, porch and entry steps, shop and shed pads, and curbing. Broom finish is the standard for traction on our winter surfaces, with saw-cut patterns and exposed aggregate available.

Tear-out and haul-off of the old slab is part of a replacement quote, not a surprise line item at the end.

Working with the rest of the project

Concrete usually touches other trades. Sprinkler lines, drainage, retaining walls, and landscape grading all need to be sequenced before the pour, and we coordinate that when we are handling the yard as well.

Every concrete job gets a written estimate after a site visit. Access for the truck, depth of excavation, and reinforcement all change the scope, so we look before we write it up.

FAQ

Concrete Questions

What concrete work do you do?
Driveways, patios, walkways, steps, shop and shed slabs, and curbing, including tear-out and replacement of existing flatwork.
Why does concrete crack in Wenatchee winters?
Water soaks into the surface, freezes, and expands. Air-entrained mix, drainage away from the slab, and correctly cut control joints are what keep that from turning into spalling and random cracking.
How long before I can drive on a new driveway?
Foot traffic is usually fine after a couple of days and vehicles after about a week, depending on temperature and the mix used. We give you the exact timing for your pour.
Can you pour in cold weather?
Sometimes, with blankets and mix adjustments. If conditions are not safe for a durable pour we will tell you to wait rather than take the job.
Do you remove the old concrete?
Yes. Demolition and haul-off are included in replacement estimates.
